Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Singapore International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Depart from your hotel for a tour of Singapore focused on the modern architecture. First we will look at the Oasia Downtown, an award-winning hotel designed by WOHA architecture firm. From there we will drive to the most recent development of Singapore on reclaimed land: Marina Bay. This area has been developed over the years to become Singapore’s new downtown for the twenty-first century with a financial centre, civic space and gardens. Then we proceed to the Financial district – MBFC developed by the government and completed in 2013. The Marina Bay Financial Centre and Asia Square are now the choice location for many leading financial institutions. We continue our itinerary along the bay with a short walk to the Red Dot Museum opened in 2017. The museum showcases design works across disciplines including innovative products, research concepts, communication works and art. Here we will have a light lunch, at the Design food café in the museum. After lunch we will take a seven-minute walk to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This complex designed by Israeli-American architect Moshe Safdie, contains one of the biggest hotels in the world in a TRPL tower structure linked at the top by the famous sky-garden with its iconic “Infinity Pool”. Marina Bay Sands, houses two theatres, a casino, shops and restaurants and includes also a promenade along Marina Bay, with a museum dedicated to art and science. We will proceed in the mid-afternoon to Gardens by the Bay, an enormous tropical garden designed by British architects Wilkinson Eyre and landscape architects Grant Associates. We will spend the entire afternoon here and have an early dinner at one of the cafes, waiting for the “Garden Rhapsody” light and sound show to commence. After the show we will take a ten-minute walk over and through the two-hundred and eighty metre pedestrian Helix Bridge. The concept of this bridge was designed by an international team comprising Australian Cox Architecture, Singaporean Architects 61 and Arup engineers. Return to the hotel.

Day 3: At 09.00am, depart for a city tour of Singapore. Discover the history, culture and lifestyle of Singapore. Stroll along the Singapore River and explore the British colonial district and the Merlion Park, the mouth of Singapore river. Visit Chinatown, where you can see the magnificent Sri Mariamman Temple and Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Visit the nearby Thian Hock Keng Temple, the oldest and most important temple of the Hokkien people in the country. Finally, visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the ‘green lung’ of the city centre. After this, back to hotel.

At 06.00pm, depart for an evening tour of the city. Discover the city from the bumboat point of view. Embark on your boat at Clarke Quay jetty and enjoy your 40-minutes sail through downtown and the spectacular Marina Bay at dusk. Return to Clarke Quay and proceed to Gardens by the Bay just in time for the Garden Rhapsody, the astonishing light show of the “Super Trees”. Dinner in a local restaurant (drinks not included)
