Malaysia’s new Electric Train Service (ETS) connecting Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur has launched, reducing travel time to just 3.5 to 4.5 hours and providing a modern, comfortable alternative to flying or driving. The upgraded rail link has strengthened connectivity between southern Malaysia and the capital, making travel smoother for delegates and business travellers moving between Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, and beyond.
Reaching Singapore from Johor Bahru is already seamless. Travellers can cross via the Johor–Singapore Causeway using shuttle trains, public buses, or private transfers, and once in Singapore, they can easily continue their journey using the MRT network. Coupled with the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, which is expected to be completed next year, passengers travelling between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur will be able to complete the entire journey in around four hours via rail.
With improved reliability and multiple service classes, the ETS route has enhanced regional business travel, supported MICE movement, and contributed to a more efficient flow of tourism and events across Malaysia.
