HK Express, the budget airline owned by Cathay Pacific, will begin daily flights to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) starting August 1. This marks Subang as the second destination in Malaysia for HK Express, following the success of their Penang–Hong Kong route launched last November. The move is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader growth strategy in Malaysia, with further expansions under consideration.
The new Subang route will add flexibility to their network with convenient evening departures, complementing Cathay’s morning and afternoon flights from KLIA. Narrow-body aircraft, likely from the Airbus A320 family, will be used for the Subang route as part of HK Express’s low-cost strategy.
