Reopened on 20 December 2025, the 113-year-old Seri Negara Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, showcases Malaysia’s history within beautifully restored colonial architecture. Part of the Carcosa Seri Negara complex, the two mansions were built in 1896 and 1913 and once housed senior British officers and hosted royalty. Seri Negara also witnessed the signing of the Federation of Malaya Agreement on 5 August 1957, a key milestone in the nation’s path to independence.
While Carcosa is still undergoing restoration, Seri Negara is now open to visitors, blending historical artefacts with modern digital displays. Admission is currently free. The gallery is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10AM to 6PM.
