Singapore’s historic Capitol Theatre, now under the management of The Capitol Kempinski Hotel, has transformed into a premier event venue for the MICE market. Opened in 1930, the theatre was inspired by New York’s famed Roxy Theatre and became a symbol of modern entertainment in Southeast Asia, boasting the largest auditorium capacity in the Far East at the time. Over the decades, it has welcomed international stars such as Charlie Chaplin and Ava Gardner, cementing its status as a cultural landmark.
The theatre blends preserved neoclassical elegance with modern flexibility, including a rotational floor system that switches from tiered seating to a flat-floor event space in minutes. With 865 seats or space for 400 standing guests, it now hosts high-impact corporate events, luxury brand launches, after-parties, galas, weddings, and performances. Recent AV upgrades and refreshed interiors further enhance the venue, making it a standout choice for memorable conferences and events in the heart of the city.
