Lights Off At Merlion Park And Other Tourism Precincts During Earth Hour 2010

Singapore, 19 March 2010 – In support of Earth Hour 2010, non-essential lights at the Merlion Park, Singapore River, Orchard Road, the Pit Building and at Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) Tourism Court will be switched off for an hour on 27 March 2010 from 8.30pm. Street lights and other functional lights will remain on for safety reasons.

More than ten shopping malls along Orchard Road have also committed to switch off their façade lights.
