This wonderful tour starts with a stop at the Sangeh monkey forest. Immense nutmeg trees form this oasis of peace, which is well known for meditation, and it houses two temples originating form the 13th century dedicated to the goddess Vishnu and the sacred monkeys. Local tales say it has been carved into the rocks by a giant with his fingernails in one night while he was arrested down there. We continue through unspoiled landscapes to the small village of Batur to visit the “Pura Ulun Danu Batur”, famous for its architecture and the spectacular location on the edge of Lake Batur.

Through countryside we head up towards Kintamani for lunch at a typical restaurant. After lunch, visit of the Tirta Empul temple, dating back to the year of 962. Its springs are famous for being holy and able to heal every illness and is said to give you eternal life. Last stop on the way home is the “Gunung Kawi” temple. 200 steps down the canyon give access to this house of worship.
